Why publish with Penman Books.

There's no shortage of options for an author with a finished manuscript. We're going to skip the marketing and tell you what actually makes us different — and where another route might suit you better.

1. One team, end to end.

With us, the same project manager runs your editing, cover, formatting, distribution and launch. There's no ticket queue, no "we'll get back to you" loop with different freelancers. One person knows your book.

2. You own everything. Forever.

Your copyright stays with you. Your rights to film, TV, translation, sequels, audio, anything — yours. We never take an equity slice of your royalties. We do the work; you get paid by the retailer directly.

3. We work in India, for the world.

Our editors, designers and production team are based in India. That keeps prices honest. But we set every book up to sell globally on Amazon, IngramSpark and major eBook platforms — your readers can be anywhere.

4. Real humans on covers. Always.

Every cover we deliver is designed by a human designer briefed for your genre — not pulled from an AI image generator and called done. We use AI as a sketching tool internally; nothing AI-generated ships as a finished cover unless you've specifically asked for it.

5. The guarantee.

If you're not happy with your cover, we redesign it. If a printed copy comes back damaged or misprinted, we replace or refund it. Read the full guarantee.

When we're NOT the right fit

• You're hoping for a traditional advance. We don't pay advances — we don't take royalties either. If a six-figure advance is your dream, query a traditional publisher.
• You want exposure-only deals. We aren't a vanity press. Authors pay for production; we don't pretend it's a publishing 'deal.'
• You need someone to write the book for you. We don't ghostwrite — we polish, design, format, distribute and market. Bring us a manuscript.
